Chief Executive Officer
Fayez Alsharef is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara). Appointed as Sadara’s CEO on Sept. 1, 2023, Alsharef has extensive experience in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. He began his career at SABIC in 1997 and later held leadership roles in Saudi Aramco and ARLANXEO.
Alsharef joined Saudi Aramco in 2002 after his tenure at SABIC as Operations Group Leader for one of SABIC’s affiliates. At Saudi Aramco, he worked in various leadership roles in the areas of operations and business development, including leading the commercial team who shaped the formation of Sadara. He is a Board Member for ARLANXEO and previously served on Sadara’s Board starting in 2020.
Fayez Alsharef is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara). Appointed as Sadara’s CEO on Sept. 1, 2023, Alsharef has extensive experience in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. He began his career at SABIC in 1997 and later held leadership roles in Saudi Aramco and ARLANXEO.
Alsharef joined Saudi Aramco in 2002 after his tenure at SABIC as Operations Group Leader for one of SABIC’s affiliates. At Saudi Aramco, he worked in various leadership roles in the areas of operations and business development, including leading the commercial team who shaped the formation of Sadara. He is a Board Member for ARLANXEO and previously served on Sadara’s Board starting in 2020.
Prior to joining Sadara, Alsharef served for nearly five years as the Director of one of Saudi Aramco’s Giga Projects, the Amiral Project.
Alsharef holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and is a graduate of Harvard and Stanford Executive Programs in General Management.

Alejandro Farre
Chief Financial Officer
Alejandro Farre joined Sadara Chemical Company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in July 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience spanning 28 years in the finance and petrochemical industries. In his role as CFO, Farre plays a key part in Sadara’s continued growth as a strategic member of its senior management team.He is primarily responsible for management of the company's present and future financial position as well asd building a strong and capable financial team to support the company's business and operations.
His career at Dow spanned various global positions prior to being appointed to his current role at Sadara. He was mostly recent appointed as Dow’s area finance director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI). In that role, he partnered with geography leadership teams throughout EMEAI to drive regional financial performance and provide leadership to the finance team.

Farre joined Dow Iberica in 1991, holding positions in Customer Services and Finance before moving to London in 1997 as Customer Financial Services manager for UK/Ireland and Scandinavia. In 2001, he relocated to Corporate Treasury in Midland, Michigan, as Finance manager in Funding and Financial Risk Management.
In 2005, Farre moved to Madrid, Spain, as Finance director for the region, until 2007, when he transitioned to Switzerland as chief financial officer of Equipolymers. He was appointed Finance director for Mergers & Acquisitions in Europe in 2009, and in 2010, assumed the role of Corporate Finance director and Global Funding Process leader in Treasury at Midland.
Farre holds a Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Madrid School of Economics, Spain, and a post graduate diploma in Corporate Finance from the London Business School.

Nidal H. Issa
Vice President - Manufacturing & Engineering
Nidal Issa was appointed Sadara’s Manufacturing and Engineering Vice President (VP M&E) in February 2025. With over 25 years of experience in the chemical and petrochemical industries, Issa brings a wealth of expertise in operational excellence, cross-functional leadership, and global manufacturing management.
Issa’s appointment as VP M&E marks his return to Sadara, where between 2012 and 2019 he served in a number of leadership positions including Senior Director of Hydrocarbons, Energy, and Plastics. Prior to his appointment as Sadara’s VP M&E, Issa served as the Global Vice President of Operations at EQUATE Petrochemical Company, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational performance and leading large-scale projects.
Nidal Issa was appointed Sadara’s Manufacturing and Engineering Vice President (VP M&E) in February 2025. With over 25 years of experience in the chemical and petrochemical industries, Issa brings a wealth of expertise in operational excellence, cross-functional leadership, and global manufacturing management.
Issa’s appointment as VP M&E marks his return to Sadara, where between 2012 and 2019 he served in a number of leadership positions including Senior Director of Hydrocarbons, Energy, and Plastics. Prior to his appointment as Sadara’s VP M&E, Issa served as the Global Vice President of Operations at EQUATE Petrochemical Company, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational performance and leading large-scale projects.
He has held various leadership positions at Dow Chemical, where he contributed to the successful startup and operation of world-scale facilities, demonstrating his ability to manage complex, high-stakes projects. His extensive experience spans industries including hydrocarbons, energy, and plastics, where he has led major operations, joint ventures, and mega-projects, excelling in leading diverse teams.
As a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Issa is known for his process optimization and cost reduction initiatives, consistently delivering successful outcomes.
Issa holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, USA (1999), and an Executive MBA from the same institution.

Ahmed M. Al-Sharikh
Vice President - Business & Services
Ahmed Al-Sharikh was appointed Vice President of Business and Services (VP B&S) at Sadara Chemical Company in October 2025. With over 20 years of experience in refining operations, project leadership, and corporate strategy, he brings extensive technical and managerial expertise to the role.
In his current position, Al-Sharikh oversees Commercial, New Business Development, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Information Security, Procurement, business excellence, and local content functions. He is recognized for combining operational insight with strategic planning to drive cross-functional performance.

Al-Sharikh joined Sadara from his most recent position as VP of Planning and Technical Services at TasHelat Marketing Company, a Saudi Aramco JV. Over his career, he has held several leadership positions in affiliates affairs and JV management, directing the oversight of major partnerships including SATORP and SASREF, facilitating strategic acquisitions, and implementing best practices in governance and operational excellence.
Al-Sharikh holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, USA (2000).

Saeed A. Alghamdi
Vice President - Industrial Relations
Saeed Alghamdi joined Sadara in June 2019 and was appointed as Sadara’s Industrial Relations Vice President (VP IR) in August 2024. In this role, he is responsible for creating and sustaining a corporate-wide human resources strategy and initiatives to attract, motivate, develop, reward, and retain talent.
He is also responsible for Sadara’s community, facilities, and logistics services. Alghamdi oversees the promotion of Sadara’s corporate image locally and internationally to foster effective and healthy relationships with government agencies, shareholders, and Sadara’s broader community.

Alghamdi brings with him nearly two decades of experience across top-tier local and multinational organizations such as BAE Systems, Baker Hughes, and TAQA, Alghamdi has a proven track record of establishing and transforming HR and support services in organizations.
Alghamdi holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and an MBA from the Malaysian Open University. He also holds memberships in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Arabian Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) with various certifications and qualifications in the field of HR and Leadership.
