Andrew Derksen was appointed Sadara’s General Counsel in November 24, 2024. With experience as a General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Attorney, Andrew’s prestigious two-decade career has been global, covering the GCC, US, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His extensive areas of expertise incorporate Joint Ventures, Securities Regulations, Corporate Governance, Petrochemical contracts, as well as ESG and Compliance.

Andrew joined Sadara from Atlas Corporation (NYSE) where he was the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. His previous work experience includes positions such as General Counsel at Lakeside Resources - Oil & Gas Exploration Company; Legal Business Manager at Hess Corp. (NYSE); and General Counsel, Chief Compliance, and Corporate Secretary at the Exide Group.

Andrew has navigated his career and education to combine the worlds of law, business management, oil & gas and petrochemicals, giving him a niche specialization. He obtained an LL.B. degree from Queen's Faculty of Law, Kingston, Ontario-Canada, and his Ontario Bar and England & Wales Bar remain active. He also has certifications in management and petroleum studies from several prestigious institutions.
