WATTENHA PROGRAM
Sadara's Local Content Program, “Wattenha,” is a comprehensive strategic initiative designed to unify and synchronize local content development efforts. Through this program, Sadara is dedicated to driving and maximizing long-term economic growth and sustainability in the petrochemical sector by localizing the industrial supply chain, attracting downstream investments, developing local innovation plans and promoting local content development activities in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Since Sadara’s inception in 2011, its shareholders have recognized the transformative impact of this major project on the Kingdom’s economy and its people. Sadara was the first Aramco’s joint venture to have its local content baseline officially measured by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA).
At Sadara, we champion and promote Local Content and its growth across all our operations – from prioritizing local suppliers and goods to recruiting and developing Saudi talent. We understand the importance of sustainable business practices and remain committed to strengthening the role of local content in our company, the petrochemicals sector, and the communities we serve. We work closely with government and semi-government agencies, and private-sector partners, along with our parent companies, Saudi Aramco and Dow to streamline and accelerate localization initiatives.
