Wayne Muil

Vice President – Manufacturing & Engineering

Sadara Chemical Company

Wayne Muil was appointed Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering (M&E) for the Sadara Chemical Company in April 2019, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the global chemical industry. Having led Sadara through the recent successful completion of the Creditors Reliability Test (CRT), Wayne takes over leadership of the M&E organization as it moves into Sadara’s next phase of optimization and operational excellence. In this phase, the focus of his attention will be on sustained, industry-leading EHS performance and reliable operations, serving both customers and key stakeholders.

Wayne has accumulated extensive global manufacturing experience, having worked and lived in South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and most recently the Middle East. Over the past two years, he directed the company’s successful completion of the CRT – an intensive 60-day performance exercise – on its first official attempt, setting a record for Saudi Aramco-affiliated companies. Prior to this, Wayne held roles as Global Manufacturing and Technology Director, Maintenance Director and Site Director across various geographies and market segments.

Wayne began his career at Sentrachem South Africa in 1987. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natal, South Africa, and an executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
