Sadara Chemical Company

Faisal was appointed Vice President of Industrial Relations for Sadara Chemical Company in May 2016. He is responsible for a wide-range of business critical functions in this role, including human resource strategy development, planning and execution, as well as training and development of employees, and all government and corporate communications. He is also responsible for managing the numerous housing and transportation requirements for Sadara’s diverse workforce.

Faisal is no stranger to Sadara, having joined the company’s Setup & Readiness team in 2007, leading the development of Sadara’s HR functions, including compensation & benefits, policies & procedures, apprentice training & execution plans, secondee management, and staffing levels. He then handed over HR activities to the appointed Sadara management and continued his engagement with the company as Saudi Aramco’s representative, supporting its Sadara Board members.

Faisal joined Saudi Aramco in 1987, and in his 29 years with the company he has led a variety of teams working to support Saudi Aramco’s transformation, and achieved great results in the process. Early in his career, he worked with Human Resources as a Management Training Coordinator, working with management in Aramco to meet their developmental needs. This was followed by a move to developing and managing demand forecast of in-Kingdom hydrocarbon products, supply chain, and inventory with the Oil Supply Planning & Scheduling Department. From there he joined the Central Engineering Organization and led teams responsible for the automation of processes, the establishment of its transformation roadmap, and the development of company engineers. In 2014 he led the Joint Implementation Program of the Petrorabigh Phase II project, responsible for commercial negotiations with Sumitomo Chemical Company.

Faisal received his B.S. in Industrial Management from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1986. He has also received certifications in Human Resources and Performance Improvement Consulting. He has previously served as a board member of the Arabian Society for Human Resources Management and is an active member of both the Society for Organizational Learning and the Saudi Cancer Foundation for the Eastern Province.
